To whom it may concern,
What is the progress of a person to be married in the Greek church. I was baptized Greek Orthodox and my finance was never baptized as a child. Does he need to be baptized to be married in the church?
Thank You
Katerina Nafpliotis
Hi, Katerina,
Yes, your fiancé will need to be baptized in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit to be eligible for marriage in the Orthodox Church.
I would be happy to do that for him after he attends a catechism class. Our “Embracing Orthodoxy” class meets the first and second Wed. of the month in our learning center.
Blessings,
Fr. Philemon
